Fine-tuning entrances and exits in week 4 of rehearsals

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been working on making sure the cast are confident with entrances and exits on stage.  They’ve been making lots of notes in their scripts and, the more we repeat it, the more they get used to it.

Aladdin comes to save the Princess from Abanazar

Jim Howson, who plays Abanazar, has perfected his evil laugh and we’ve all been boo-ing in the right places to get him used to the crowd.

Fun fact – Panto tradition dictates that the ‘baddies’ enter from stage left and the ‘goodies’ enter from stage right.

We’ve also been looking at how the Spirit Ring and Genie appear on stage. We can’t wait for you to see it as our Genie has been doing some great work with accents…

Lastly, we’ve been walking through our final walk-down. This is so all the cast know which side of the stage to come on from to take their bows. In January, we’ll be adding in dancing and singing, so it will all start fitting together nicely.
